PPA196: Pink with Sprinkles on Top

In a couple days, my niece, Jocelyn, celebrates her 3rd birthday. While I don't know her too well, I do know she is adorable and has the cutest smile! I thought a bright, colourful card from her Auntie would make her day!

I'm posting this card a tad early as I wanted to enter it in the Pal's Paper Arts challenge this week.
I chose to use Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo, Early Espresso and Whisper White as my colour combo and I just love how it came together!

The saying in the Create a Cupcake stamp set was just perfect for this card! I stamped the words "pink" and "sprinkles" in pink and orange ink and then fussy-cut them, pasting them back on the sentiment. I embellished it with Melon Mambo candy dots. The cupcake is popped up to give the card some dimension.

Here's wishing Jocelyn a fun birthday filled with lots of pink, lots of cupcakes, and lots of smiles!

Card Ingredients:
Stamps: Create a Cupcake
Paper: Whisper White, Early Espresso, Pink Pirouette, Brights DSP
Ink: Early Espresso, Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo
Tools: Scallop Circle Punch, 1-3/4" Circle punch, Cupcake Builder punch
Accessories: Melon Mambo candy dots, Rhinestone (Michael's)

Inspired By... a Vibrant Colour Combo!

Hello again!

Welcome to a new inspirational photo challenge! This week was Karly's pick and she chose a bright and cheerful colour combo:

IB #38

To be honest, it was quite challenging for me to figure out how to put these 5 colours together on one card. I would have never thought of putting these colours together! But, after choosing a sketch, it came together so nicely. Deconstructed Sketch had a great sketch this week:

And The Paper Players had a simple theme challenge:

Combine all three of these challenge together and this is what I came up with:

In the end, I absolutely love how it turned out! These colours actually look fabulous together!

Halloween Themed Challenge - Card #2

Halloween cards are so fun to make! I'm entering another card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge:

HALLOWEEN  or HALLOWEEN COLOURS

I used layers of designer paper from the 'Witches Brew 'collection to create the card front. The Trick or Treat stamped image is popped up and bordered with a Decorative Label. Candy dots embellish the card (my new favourite embellishment!)

KCRR: An Autumn Thank You Card

Can't believe it's already October! As much as I love Summer, the Autumn season is one of my favourite times of the year. I love the leaves changing colour, pumpkin-flavoured teas and desserts, thanksgiving dinners and cozy fall sweaters. Not to mention, my birthday happens to fall in the month of October! I celebrated it a couple days ago - I was spoiled! Lots of thoughtful birthday wishes, surprises and a delicious dinner out. I feel so blessed to have so many wonderful people in my life! I do feel just a tad bit older this year, though, as I am entering the last year of my twenties - yikes! But, I look forward to a great year ahead and can't wait to see what God has in store for us!

After a long break, we are back with a new KCRR challenge!

We randomly chose three items for this week's challenge:

Pacific Point
Leaves
Cute Clips

This was a good challenge, as Pacific Point is not a colour I use very often. It is a bright, vibrant colour and can sometimes be hard to coordinate with other elements/colours in a card. I had a look through my stacks of designer paper that has Pacific Point in it and came across "International Bazaar" DSP. I used the designer paper as a layer on the card front and then layered pieces of cardstock designer paper on top. I softened the brightness of the card by adding a neutral (Early Espresso) and a subtle (So Saffron). Here's how it turned out:

I never thought blue and green would really pair up that nicely together, but I love the addition of Lucky Limeade in this colour combo! I added some texture by embossing the Early Espresso cardstock with woodgrain design, as well as the leaves, to go with the autumn theme. At first I wasn't too sure where to place the cute clip arrow, but it worked out quite well in my design! I placed it so that the arrow pointed towards the sentiment which is the central focus of the card. Candy dots and a button with twine embellish the card.

I love the layout of this card. I used last week's Deconstructed Sketch as the base of my design:

Thanks for stopping by! Make sure to hop on over to Karly's Creations to see what she has created with this week's elements!

A Matching Wedding Card

Yesterday I promised to share with you a wedding card that I made to go along with the bridal shower card (to see this post, click here). I used the same colours (lime green, black and purple) and created a tri-fold card.

I love this fold! It's fun to decorate and looks fantastic in the end! I used Lucky Limeade DSP to cover the inside panels and the two outer panels were embossed with Elegant Lines embossing folder (I often turn to this embossing folder for wedding cards). Candy dots embellish the inside panels and rhinestones adds that extra detail to the embossed cardstock.

Thanks again for stopping by!
