Mojo483: A Foxy Birthday Card

I thought I'd play along with the Mojo Monday sketch a second time, since I love the layout so much! I also love the Fox Builder punch from Stampin Up and saw this as an opportunity to use it again :)
(To see the first card I made using this layout, check out my last post here).

I used the same colour combo in this card as the last, but changed the character from a skunk to a fox. I have another niece (there are many in my family!) who is celebrating a birthday in early March and thought this would be a great birthday card for her. Again, I added a little flower by the ear of the fox to make it a little more girly.

Thanks for stopping by!

A Stinkin' Cute Birthday Card

One of my newest Stampin Up favourites is the Foxy Friends stamp set and the Fox Builder punch. There are just endless possibilities with this bundle! And I finally got to use it on one of my cards last night.

Mojo Monday had a great layered sketch this week and the Color Throwdown challenge this week was the perfect colour combination for what I had in mind!

I pulled out "A Little Foxy" designer series paper (DSP) and used that, along with the Color Throwdown combination, as my basis for choosing the colours of cardstock for the layers in this card sketch. The circle shape in the sketch was the perfect spot to place a cute little character using the Fox Builder punch. I've seen several images on google and Pinterest of different characters you can make with this punch and the cute little skunk caught my eye! Here's how it turned out:

The colours may be a bit more pastel than the bright colours of the Color Throwdown challenge, but I thought I would enter it anyway.  Isn't the skunk adorable?! I added a little flower to the skunk, as I will be using this card for my niece's birthday and wanted to make it a little more girly :)

I'll definitely be using this punch more often in the near future!

A Feathery Birthday Card

After a busy, long week, I spent part of my Friday night making some cards. It took me some time to gain inspiration, but after looking through a few card challenges for this week, I was inspired to make a birthday card using a stamp set I haven't touched for a long time!

Fab Friday has a clean and simple sketch this week, which gave me the perfect start to making my card:

And Seize the Birthday has their usual "Anything Goes" theme this week. The 'Topping' option this time was felt, but I'm pretty sure I don't own any felt... or it's buried somewhere in my crafting supplies... So I opted out on that :).

And here's the card:

The Stampin Up stamp set I used was "Four Feathers". I loved this stamp set when I first saw it, but wasn't really sure how to incorporate it into my card designs. This sketch gave me the perfect opportunity. The large circle on the card was the perfect spot for these 3 feathers that I stamped and die-cut. The colours I used are probably my favourite colour combination lately -- Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, Pool Party, Basic Gray, Smokey Slate, Basic Black and Whisper White. Shades of teal have always been my favourite colours! I added a small strip of black and white designer series paper which seems to pop right out of the card! A couple of the feathers and the sentiment is popped up to give the card some dimension. I've also added texture by embossing the background with "Decorative Dots". Bakers twine and small rhinestones embellish the card.
