KCRR41: The Quilting Technique

Welcome to a new KCRR challenge!

The Quilting Technique
Flower Trim
Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die

Interesting combination of elements! My first thought was... adding all three of these elements on one card could make it look quite busy and cluttered! However, there's always room for some creativity. I wanted to try out a new quilting pattern with paper. I did some Pinterest searching and came across this great pattern. I also loved the colour combo in this card so I decided to CASE it, adding some of my own detail.

I cut off a flower from the flower trim and added it to the center of the quilt design. I used Marina Mist for the butterflies and added pearls to the center of each of them. I love how this card turned out!

Thanks for stopping by! Make sure to hop on over to Karly's Creations to see how she used these elements in her card.

Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge #217

My mother-in-law recently asked for religious cards for baptisms and profession of faith. I knew the perfect Stampin Up stamp set to use. It's one I recently purchased and it's called "Trust God". It has such encouraging sayings in it and can be used for any occasion.
Since my in-laws will be visiting this weekend, I thought it's about time to stop procrastinating and get crafting! :)

For today's card I used a new sketch from The Sweet Stop. I discovered this sketch challenge blog not too long ago and I think it's a great source for inspiration! Here's the sketch for this week:

I picked a sentiment/saying and used it as the central image of the card. I chose Marina Mist, Certainly Celery and Midnight Muse as the main colours. Here's how it turned out:

The edges of the polka dot designer paper are distressed and I added a 'splatter' over the sentiment. The doily adds some detail to this simple design and small blue buttons embellish the card. I think it makes a great card for a baby boy's baptism or it could even be used for a baby shower.

Thanks for stopping by!

Card Ingredients:
Stamps: Trust God
Paper: Marina Mist, Midnight Muse, Whisper White, Subtles DSP
Ink: Midnight Muse
Tools: Delicate Doilies sizzlit die, Spritzer, Distress Tool, Circles Nestabilities
Accessories: Buttons

DS96 & PP156 {Baby Boy Sailboat Card}

Despite the rain, yesterday was a good day! And the rain just makes the snow melt and wash away, so it's not such a bad thing! I spent the morning cleaning the apartment and my crafting table (scraps of paper everywhere!). I then picked up my hubby from the airport (it was SO good to see him!) and spent the rest of the day papercrafting (only 2 weeks left before the craft show!)

For today's card, I played along with two challenges: Deconstructed Sketch and Pal's Paper Arts.

I love this colour combo! It's perfect for a baby boy card. And the sketch has just enough layers. Instead of the heart shape, I decided to put together a sailboat using punch art.

It was super easy to make! I simply cut a 1-3/8" circle in half for the boat itself, and the sails were created by cutting 1-1/4" and 1" squares in half. I popped it up to give it some dimension. A small green heart is added to one of the sails and bakers twine is wrapped around the boat for an added embellishment.

Thanks for looking!
