On another note, today is my brother-in-law's birthday! Each year I try to think of something unique for each family member's birthday, something related to their interests/hobbies or professions. Well, this particular brother loves to play X-box. I honestly have never met someone who loves it that much! So, to go along with his interest of video games, I thought it would be fun to make a card in the shape of a controller. I found a template for the base of the card online (unfortunately, I can't find the original blog post), but modified it slightly. I had my hubby's controller in front of me to try and make the card resemble the controller as closely as possible. Here's how it turned out:
The controller:
And the card:
I think it turned out quite well! I popped up each circle to resemble the buttons on the controller and used markers for the letters and x-box symbol.
Here's wishing Jonathan a very Happy Birthday!
This card is brilliant!! You have inspired me to attempt one for my boyfriend's birthday!! Thanks so much! (:

DeleteCan you please send me the template for my son b-day party.
ReplyDeleteI love this card, it looks like the real remote. Is there any chance you can please send me instructions or even JUST the materials such as the paper and the tape that was used to make it look dimensional.

ReplyDeleteThanks Shanna! I used Stampin Up cardstock for the card base and punched out circle images for the 'buttons'. The buttons are popped up using dimensional stickers. I drew the images and letters on the buttons. Hope that helps! One of these days I hope to find time to do a blog post with more detailed instructions :)
ReplyDeleteIt's been 6 years, have you created the blog with detailed instructions?
DeleteHiya
ReplyDeleteI'm echoing everyone else please add template to your blog... your card is amazing
